In today's fast-moving world, digital literacy has become as essential as basic education itself. Yet, a large section of women and children in semi-urban and rural communities remain disconnected from the digital tools that increasingly govern everyday life — from banking and healthcare to education and government services. The Digital Literacy Awareness Program is Deshraag Foundation's response to this growing gap.

This program introduces participants to the fundamentals of using smartphones and computers safely and confidently. Sessions cover practical, everyday skills such as making digital payments, accessing online government schemes, using basic internet search tools, and staying safe from online fraud and scams. Special focus is given to women from Self-Help Groups, helping them leverage digital platforms to promote their products, connect with customers, and manage their small businesses more efficiently.

Rather than being a one-time lecture, the program is built around hands-on, practice-based learning. Facilitators work in small groups, allowing participants to actually use devices and apps under guidance rather than just watching a demonstration. The goal isn't just awareness — it's building lasting, usable confidence with technology.
