National Mountain Climbing Day

Every year on August 1, National Mountain Climbing Day is observed.  The day was commemorated in honour of mountaineers Bobby Mathews and Josh Madigan , for successfully climbing the 46th peak of New York State’s Adirondack Mountains. In May 2016, Bobby and Josh received official membership into the Adirondack 46er Club.

In 1961, the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), a national organisation, was founded. In addition to promoting and regulating mountaineering and associated sporting events, it also works to safeguard and preserve India's mountains, particularly the Himalayas. The IMF headquarters are in Delhi.

Who doesn't enjoy an adventure? Mountain climbing, often known as mountaineering or "Alpinism," is a sport of enjoyment, thrill, and reality that causes an adrenaline rush unlike any other.

Mountaineering covers pursuits like hiking, rock climbing, glacier crossing, and other similar pursuits. Furthermore, it's a really difficult and wild play, therefore whomever completes the mission is quite daring.
