World Youth Skills Day
-“Schooling and degree aren’t enough to guarantee employment but skills do.”
The UN General Assembly proclaimed July 15th, 2014, as World Youth Skills Day. This day has been set aside to honour the strategic significance of giving young people the skills they need for employment, respectable labour, and entrepreneurship.The goal of World Youth Skills Day is to establish a line of communication between young people and Technical & Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions, as well as between companies and government policymakers.
The World Youth Skills Day promotes the abolition of gender inequality and assures the availability of resources for those who are less fortunate.
In congruence with the theme of of World Youth Skill Day 2022, we totally believe that future and youth are inextricably interwoven. Youth is essential to a society's future. We must provide the young people with the necessary knowledge and abilities to enhance their own futures.
The objective of the day is to illustrate how important it is to constantly learn new skills in order to stand out from the competition in today's world of intense competitiveness. The concept itself implies that it is crucial to arm yourself with necessary skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and job.
Several initiatives have been taken by India in the current situation to improve youth skills. The Government has set up the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). It intends to make young Indians more employable by helping them enrol in training for skills that are relevant to their sector.
